How lively it was at the „Living Library“

We see the value in continuous learning and in sharing good, useful information. That is also why we accepted an invitation to Trstená for an event called „Living Library“.

What was the aim of the Living Library?

For more than 300 students in the third year of secondary schools and grammar schools there were talks, discussions and workshops aimed at motivating them, inspiring them to choose the right profession and giving them as much know-how as possible – all of it from the most experienced people, people from a real living library.

Neoship as an employer

To begin with we introduced our company to the students and highlighted the fact that you can do business in the Orava region too and that young people can find their place here. And that our company is an example of that :)

By presenting the idea of who we are and what we do, we tried to explain to the students that our mission is not only to meet our clients' needs but also to anticipate their expectations, educate them, inform them about new trends and carry out other activities in that direction. We wanted to point out the competitive advantage this brings and, on the other hand, to highlight how important it is to achieve long-term customer satisfaction.

How to prepare brilliantly for a job interview

The second part of our presentation focused on the topic of the job interview. Our managing director Tomáš advised the students how to handle one successfully, what to avoid, what definitely not to forget, how to write a CV properly, and pointed out the shortcomings he often sees at interviews. The topic that sparked the biggest discussion among the students was social media, when it was mentioned that social media is a candidate's „first CV“, one that reaches the employer and says a great deal about a person's character.

Mutual benefit

Communicating with young people is always interesting and rewarding for us, because they often have great ideas and see fewer obstacles to achieving them, which opens up a great many possibilities for them. We would like to thank the organisers from the civic association V.I.A.C for the invitation and we look forward to meeting again next time.

We plan to continue in this direction and believe that, just as we come away enriched from every single event like this, our passing on of knowledge and experience contributes to a better, better-educated society.
